Ashanti was founded in March of 1990 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida by Linda Houston- Jones. The name Ashanti is a royal West African Tribe known for it's Cultural Richness and Diversity. Ashanti has been serving Dade, Broward , and Palm Beach Communities for over 15 years with classes and entertainment in the Arts since the organizations founding in March 1990 .
Mission
Ashanti’s mission is to provide
communities with premiere classes in literacy, music, dance, and wellness programs .
The mission of Ashanti is achieved through its Arts in Education, After School Summer Camps, Health & Wellness programs, and Main Stage Productions. Ashanti has celebrated many years of service to citizens, youth and the special needs population.
Receiving support from the government (National, State, and Local), Corporations, Foundations, and
private donations from the community. Rendering service through the arts
Ashanti has afforded the organization
to receive many prestigious
awards, and recognition
as a leader in the arts.
